UC Merced Sierra Terraces

Merced, CA

This project encompassed the plan and spec for 2 dormitories. Taylor Engineers also facilitated the commissioning of LEED NC 2.1 under UCM Cx Authority. The UC Merced Sierra Terrace Dormitories house a central variable air volume modulating furnace system with unique variable volume/variable temperature zone controls to eliminate simultaneous heating and cooling. CO2 controls are provided in common rooms to dynamically control the ventilation rate. Additionally, individual toilet room fans work to reduce makeup air requirements.
